When is Family Law Returning in Season 3?

Family law encompasses legal matters that impact familial relationships such as divorce, adoption, child custody, visitation rights and visitation orders; paternity rights; domestic violence restraining orders and more. It’s a diverse field.
Law students interested in this practice area can research available family law programs on school websites or seek externships or clinics that give them early exposure to this area.
The CW has renewed Family Law for a fourth season.
The CW has renewed Canadian legal drama Family Law for an additional 10-episode season. Family Law first premiered on GlobalTV and will make its way Stateside this year through The CW’s international acquisition strategy. Produced by SEVEN24 Films and Lark Productions for Corus Entertainment’s Global division and created by Susin Nielsen.
Jewel Staite plays Abigail Bianchi, an alcoholic lawyer forced by probation to practice family law at her father’s law firm (Svensson and Associates). While managing not only her clients’ families but her own as well, Abigail must manage not only them all but her own. She is joined in her work by Victor Garber, Zach Smadu and Genelle Williams – among others.
As Season 4 kicks off, Abigail finds herself at the crossroads in all aspects of her life – personal, work and romantic alike. Ben (Benjamin Ayres) has fallen off his sobriety wagon while Sofia (Eden Summer Gilmore) wrote an essay detailing her mother’s alcoholism and Harry (Garber) has passed her over for equity partnership.
The CW has yet to announce when their show will return, though most likely sometime this summer. Meanwhile, fans can visit The CW website and app free (with ads) and enjoy past seasons at their leisure (reminder that ads may still appear). For more from The CW please visit their official website.

Family Law’s third season will feature Abigail Bianchi (Jewel Staite) struggling to balance her professional and home lives, including issues with her relationship, dealing with alcoholism in her mother, being passed over for equity partnership by Harry (Victor Garber) as an equity partner, and dealing with her abusive former husband who returns; therefore her caseload will become increasingly complex and her caseload even larger.
Vanessa Morgan stars as Max Mitchell, an experienced con artist working alongside newly promoted detective Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti). Martin Sheen guest-stars as Joseph Edwards; Ally Sheedy, Marie Avgeropoulos, Katie Findlay and WWE NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo also make appearances throughout Season Two.
Though Canadian fans can rest easy knowing their series has been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4, its fate Stateside remains uncertain. Although CBC Television renewed the series for another two seasons, their decision as to whether or not to air it Stateside remains undecided; though given its strong critical reception and solid audience response it seems likely they will choose to air it Stateside as well.
